Hi and thanks for checking out my bio on Twitter, let me take this opportunity to tell you a little bit more about myself:
The blog – it’s all about you
If you’re looking for some great posts about social media why not use the following as a place to start and join the conversation. Please have your say in the comments (I just ask the questions) and, if you like what you see, feel free to subscribe to the RSS Feed or sign up to have posts delivered by email.
I rebranded to colinwalker.me.uk at the beginning of April (2008) in order to focus on ‘social media’ and blogging, and what they empower us to do rather than concentrating on technology for the sake of it. I am increasingly vocal in this regard and like to ask the awkward questions. I believe that, while there are no right answers in this area, we cannot get to the best answers without constantly questioning what we are doing and, more importantly, why – this is where you come in, your opinion is valuable so please express it. If you disagree with me great, call me out and let’s get the discussion moving.
I’m located in the UK so am not trapped within the Silicon Valley echo chamber – although anyone interested in social media inevitably gets sucked in to a degree whether they like it or not. I feel that this distance lets me analyse things from a distinct ‘outsiders’ point of view and enables me to be completely objective.
And now the boring stuff…
My twitter follow policy
I will never follow obvious spammers and always block any that follow me (you know, the ones following thousands with a very poor ‘followtio‘). If I don’t already know who you are I will always check everyone who follows me to see if they are spamming or relevant so please put your details and URL in your bio.
Please don’t be offended if I don’t follow you back for any reason or should happen to unfollow you at some point in the future. I periodically go through my ‘friends’ removing those who haven’t tweeted for a while or I have, perhaps, drifted apart from – even the best of friends can lose touch with each other.
Don’t be shy – drop me a tweet to say ‘hi’ and let me know who you are. I don’t bite
Thanks,
Colin.
